This Is Tomorrow

Went to the Whitechapel Gallery in... er... Whitechapel today for the This Is Tomorrow exhibition. It was a lot smaller than I anticipated but still interesting, and it was free to get in so can't complain!

First frost

Nearly slipped down my icy steps taking this damn photo. Jack frost + cast iron stairs does not make for a safe and steady platform...

Sign writing

If there's one thing I love about all the older buildings and streets of London, it's the layers upon layers of old names, signs, trade descriptions and products painted over each other. It not only gives you a glimpse into the history of the building/area, but it looks awesome too!

Clerkenwell Clock

Lovely old clock at the top end of Hatton Gardens, right above Amp-London actually. Although it looks about 200 years old, it still tells the correct time.

SSS (Status Short Stories)

My very good friend Johnny is a very talented chap. A wordsmith like no other, he likes to update his Facebook status with short stories. He's currently collecting together his favourites and asking people to illustrate them for him using only the colours blue and black. Here's my little contribution...

"Johnny stared, dumbstruck, as the metallic exoskeleton of The Brief simply walked out of the fire unscathed. Terrified, he ran into the nearest office to hide. But he knew, he understood - The Brief was out there. It couldn't be bargained with. It couldn't be reasoned with. It didn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely would not stop, ever, until he was dead."

Busy

Over 50 ads designed, artworked and sent off to print around the entire world in just one week isn't a bad effort really is it? The final product of my first freelance stint which was at Amp

New Flat... New skills

Me and my girlfriend moved in to our new flat on tuesday (woop!) and as most moving days are, it was stressful as hell. Even more so when the set of keys we were given DIDN'T WORK and we ended up being locked out from 8.30pm till about midnight. Luckily our awesome friends from El Panchos (mexican restaurant beneath my old flat) lent us a ladder and we managed to break in through the kitchen window. The ladder is currently still there.

Load of Bull

Yesterday was the TBCH summer party. I was asked to design the invite and decided to take the opportunity to do some nice illustrative work. It turned out to be more than a little bit of a Si Scott homage...
